Jim Doyle and the former Sharon Biddison exchanged wedding vows on Aug. 31, 1968, in United Methodist Church in Fairborn, Ohio. Rev. Kellogg performed the ceremony.

The Doyles met while attending Ohio State University. They have a seasonal home on Glen Lake and a farm home near Springfield, Ohio.

They are known by many as the couple who brings a Buckeye float to the Glen Arbor “anything goes” parade on the Fourth of July.

The Doyles, both retired, have had a home in the county for 36 years.

They are the parents of two children, Andrew Doyle of Washington, D.C.; and Michael and Dr. Elizabeth Doyle of Louisville, Ky. They also have two grandchildren.

The couple celebrated their anniversary with a family trip to the Canadian Rockies in mid-June.
