Scholar to talk about residency

HARTIG HARTIG John Hartig, a Fulbright Scholar and the manager for the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, will talk about his time as artist-in-residence with the Glen Arbor Art Center (GAAC) next Thursday, Sept. 13.

Hartig, one of seven artists selected to participate in the 2018 program, plans to work during his residency on his book-in-progress, “Great Lakes Champions: Stories of People who Have Championed Cleanup of the Great Lakes.”

Hartig plans to offer a conversational review of his residency at 7:30 p.m. in the GAAC gallery.

Hartig serves on the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy board of directors and is an award-winning author on conservation science.
